About ISDD GMBH | German Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks

Home of Authentic Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks

ISDD sprung from a family love of cuckoo clocks and the craftsmanship and artistry that comes with these timeless pieces of German history. Claus-Stefan founded CuckooClocks.com in 2004 with a good friend, and the business has become the trusted source for traditional and modern cuckoo clocks — and German gifts and souvenirs. Claus-Stefan’s grandfather was in the business of carving wood cabinets for cuckoo clocks, while his business partner’s grandfather used to carve deer heads onto them. So when you buy from ISDD, you are buying from a family-owned business that loves sharing a piece of Germany’s history with customers across the world. Shipping is available worldwide, and each clock comes with a two-year warranty.

Black Forest Cuckoo Clock History

The Black Forest and its cuckoo clocks are world-famous. In 1737, the first cuckoo clock was developed by Franz Ketterer, a clockmaker in our city Schoenwald in the Black Forest. Today, the traditional style and design — along with the affectionate and detailed wood-carvings, the system of the call of the cuckoo, and the mechanical clock movements — is created using the same methods as the original cuckoo clock. Its unique style has made the cuckoo clock a timeless design, and the craftsmanship of the traditional cuckoo clock lives on today.
