The four-storey Seiffen Christmas pyramid is one of the well-known Seiffen storey pyramids because of its structure of several floors that taper upwards. For the pyramid frame alone, 576 individual parts were processed. The elaborately joined ring body forms the upper end of the floors and, like the stylishly milled floor fences, whose inspiration comes from stylistic elements of the Dresden Zwinger, is a typical feature of the pyramids from the Müller workshops\nCabaret. A synchronous motor ensures an almost silent drive. The pyramid was made of a total of thirteen types of wood. While only light, local woods such as spruce, maple and hornbeam were used for the frame and the running discs, the figures are mostly made of precious woods. On the individual floors, different images of the\nbiblical Christmas story comes alive in the glow of a total of 12 candles (230 V / 120V). The different milling in the bodies of the figures, which are on average 13cm tall, represent robes and aprons and underline their special character. \nThe hand-carved animals are made of lime wood and partly glazed in colour. A clear varnish is applied to the entire pyramid, which makes the noble woods appear more effective and protects them from dust and discoloration caused by sunlight. For better cleaning of the pyramid, the figures are not glued to the pyramid. First floor: Herod's soldiers (Amazakoe, Sipo, Padouk, maple, beech, hornbeam). Second floor: Holy Family & Angel of the Annunciation (Sipo, Ash, Maple, Hornbeam); Jesus Nativity Scene (Amazakoe, Beech, Maple, Hornbeam). Third floor: Epiphany (Sipo, Zebrawood, Ash, Amazakoe, Padouk, Hornbeam, Maple). Fourth floor: shepherd (Sipo, Amazakoe, maple, hornbeam, beech); Sheep (Linden)

Welcome to the family-run Müller workshop in Seiffen. Following the tradition of the region, Erzgebirge wooden folklore has been manufactured here for more than 110 years. Edmund Oswald Müller started in 1899. He offered a very wide range of products. The toys available from his workshop included doll’s house furniture made to the fashion of those days as well as the famous Seiffen match-box miniatures. In 1943 Paul Müller took over, developing the workshop in his father’s spirit. His products of natural wood found worldwide recognition. At the end of the fifties, the wide assortment of articles on offer was enlarged by the first Müller Pyramids. From 1973 to 2000, Gunter Müller was in charge of the workshop. He saw to Müller design becoming easily noticeable with all their products. Müller Music Boxes, Pyramids, delicate Miniatures and diversified Candle Arches have added much to Seiffen’s fame as the Village of Toy-Making. Ringo Müller, the current owner and manager, represents the fourth generation of the family since our workshop was founded. To qualify as a master craftsman, he created Seiffen Village, the first big Candle Arch fully illuminated inside. It is outstanding developments like this that keep our long tradition alive.
