I have an old Cuckoo clock that has hung on the wall unused for close to 20 years. Everything appears to be in excellent shape and operational with on small flaw. It requires twice the weight to keep running. If I put the normal weight on the chain it stops ticking in a few seconds. If I take the music weight and add it to the tick weight it keeps ticking just fine. I purchased Cuckoo Clock cleaner solution and cleaned the works in an ultrasonic cleaner and then re-oiled. No Change. Any ideas?

I found my own solution. After cleaning and oiling it I just needed to run the chain all the way up and down a time or two to work the oil in. It is running fine now.

Glad you were able to find a fix. Sometimes you just have to play around and tweak things a bit.
